Please note for exclusive hire events only we can accommodate more guests if they wish to bring their own tents, caravan’s or motorhomes.

Check in/out times?

Check in time is from 2pm, Check out is at 11AM.

PLEASE BE ADVISED If you do arrive before 2 pm, unfortunately, we will not have the staff available to check you in. There is a beautiful harbour village called Bosham just 5 minutes up the road, that has a selection of cafe’s pubs and a lovely area for a walk and picnic. This is the perfect place to go prior to arrival.

For exclusive hire and weddings, the venue is yours from 1.30pm and overnight guests arrive with time to settle from 2 pm on the day. We would ask guests to vacate the tents by 11 am the next day. Your guests are welcome to book the night before if required as our glamping site will be open for normal business unless we have a different event.

Is a deposit required to secure a booking?

50% cancellation 1 week prior to booking date

For exclusive hire and weddings, you can hold a date for up to 7 days via a holding deposit (if the event is within 12 weeks we will be unable to hold the date). The holding deposit is £500.00 and is non-refundable.

To secure your booking we then require payment of £1000.00 as a deposit minus the holding deposit if already paid.

Important: Bookings are NOT secured and confirmed until this deposit has been received! This sum is non-refundable.

A further 50% of the total balance is payable 6 months before the date of your booking.

Final balance is payable 28 days before the date of your booking.

The final balance is the total cost of the booking plus any extras.

If you regrettably need to cancel your booking, we require 12 weeks notice.

All deposits are non-refundable.

Final payments are only refundable if received within the appropriate notice period.


We charge per night for staying in our Mongolian yurts rather than per person. The price per person varies depending on the level of comfort you desire. Please see details below:

Yurt from £79.5 + vat per night

They are simply gorgeous and once inside, feel solid, sumptuous and welcoming. Each yurt has a handmade oak double bed, a unique hand-painted table with two chairs, natural coir flooring with a large rug and sheepskins. Beautiful drapes in either red, green or white. An antique wood-burning stove with an evening’s supply of wood. A hamper to make tea & coffee. Create your mood with our changeable LED lighting then lie back and relax to your music through the stereo. Each yurt has its own barbecue and a picnic table.

Please Note! We can add two-floor mattresses for children up to 14 years with bedding. We can supply a travel cot for infants free of charge, but please note we do not provide bedding with the cot.
If you are a family with 3 children, please contact us prior to making a booking so we can determine how best to accommodate you all in the space. We will apply a supplementary charge for the 3rd child.

Directions from London: Come off the A27 at Fishbourne Roundabout, by taking Fishbourne Exit. Then, turn right onto Salthill Road and continue to end of the road. Turn left onto the B2178, towards the village of East Ashling. Just after the sign for Oakwood School, turn right onto Chapel Lane, drive past St. Mary Sennicotts Chapel and continue down the track for 200 yards until you see a Farm Gate on your left, signposted ‘Plush Tents’. Parking is sign-posted and located in the field on your right.


Chichester train station 4 miles, you will need to get a taxi from there costing approximately £12.

We are closer to Fishbourne and Bosham train stations however there is no taxi rank and they charge a call out from Chichester.

What facilities are available to guests at the campsite?

Communal Evening Bonfire: A large complimentary bonfire in the evening, surrounded by benches, so you and your guests can relax in comfort and enjoy the evening outdoors.

Bandstand, hammock circle, picnic tables where you can congregate with your friends/family.

Hot tub: Guests are welcome to enjoy our 8-12 seater wood-fired hot tub, but please bring your own towels. The hot tub is a communal area and therefore guests are asked to shower before getting in. Smoking and drinking are not permitted inside the hot tub.

A responsible adult must supervise children at all times. We light it in the morning and it takes about 4 hours to heat up to a temperature of 36 degrees Celsius. Guests are advised to refer to Our Terms and Conditions of use: and read through the safety information and disclaimer before using the hot tub.

The Hot Tub is closed for the night at 10.30pm. We ask our guests whilst in the hot tub in the evening to consider other guests on the campsite and our neighbours’, many of our tents will be families with young children trying to sleep!

Barbecues: All tents come with a small charcoal BBQ you may bring your own coal, we also have two large gas barbecues available for guests to hire. We charge £20 per use to cover time spent cleaning the BBQ after use. We have basic barbecue tools for guests to borrow.

Mess Tent Kitchen: complete with 2 ring gas hob, pots and pans, cutlery and plates, table and chairs, a giant cool box (ICE – NOT ELECTRIC as we are off the mains-grid, running on solar power) and a communal sink and draining board is situated near the bandstand.

Are there showers and toilets on the campsite?

We have 4 reliably hot, gas-powered showers on the campsite. 

There are two types of toilets on the campsite: flushing toilets (3 Ladies, 2 male & 2 urinals) and composting toilets (1 Ladies, 1male).

The composting toilets need to be used in a certain way: male and female guests must sit down to use the composting Loo. 

Where can we get fresh drinking water on the campsite?

Water butts are provided with each tent. There are 3 drinking water points on the campsite where you can collect drinking water for your consumption.

Do you offer catering for large groups?

We can suggest a number of different event caterers including Field & Fork who provide a catering service for large groups, with breakfast/ dinner menus tailored to your event. For example menus and pricing please email us.

Field & Fork, also offer a superb selection of BBQ, Lunch and breakfast hampers for you to choose from.

Breakfast and lunch hampers can be booked via the website alongside the booking of tent/yurts.

Can we cook in the tents?

No. Cooking and the use of camping stoves are not permitted inside the tents.

We have provided a wooden table and pallet kitchen outside each tent on which to use camping stoves and prepare food.

If Plush Tents has supplied the camping stove, please do not attempt to change the canister yourself. One of our team will do this for you. If you have brought your own camping stove, please do not change the canister inside the tents. Please ensure that camping stoves are placed on a flat surface outside the tents to prevent accident, burns or outbreak of fire.

Can guests have bonfires on the campsite?

The campsite has a large communal fire pit located near the bandstand, with benches all around. Please take care when around the fire. Campers are not permitted to make fires around the campsite.

What fire safety equipment is available on the campsite?

There are fire buckets full of sand situated near the fire pit which are there to extinguish the fire if it spreads beyond the confines of the pit.

Fire extinguishers are mounted in the catering van, on the side of the toilet block and bandstand in case of fire.

Fire muster points located at each end of the campsite, are identifiable by signposts. The muster point near bandstand has a large brass bell to alert campers to the outbreak of fire. Each yurt is equipped with a fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector.

Can we bring our own BBQ?

There are BBQ’s for exclusive use outside all tents. There is also a Gas BBQ that will be available for hire.

Wild Wood Charcoal can be pre-bought or purchased onsite / £5.00 a basket or £12.00 a bag

You are welcome to bring your own barbecue so long as you do not burn the ground. Disposable barbecues may not be used directly on the ground. Freestanding barbecues are permitted on the campsite but must be placed at least 15 feet away from tents.

Is the campsite available every weekend during the summer?

We are open throughout the summer months, but summer weekend availability does get snapped up quickly for weddings or exclusive hire for events. Please note that there is a clay pigeon shoot held at the campsite on the fourth Sunday of every month starting at 9.30, which can be pretty loud. If you are thinking of booking the Saturday night and fancy a lie in on Sunday, it’s probably best to choose a different day to visit. On the other hand, you can join in the shoot (£15 for 29 shots), which is a lot of fun. You don’t need to have any experience either. The shoot is organised by the Chichester Gun Club and they welcome beginners.

Staff will book your slot on the morning of the shoot.

Where is the nearest pub serving food?

TheHorse & Groom” is our local pub in East Ashling, the food is good and wholesome. It’s situated about a mile from the campsite, in walking distance of the campsite but the route takes you along the main road.

The “Earl of March” is situated in Lavant & the “Partridge Inn” in Singleton, a beautiful picturesque Sussex village, both restaurants/pub are well worth a visit, the owners Ruth & Giles have very kindly offered all our guests a 10% discount for both the pub and restaurant.

Can you assist with transport to/from events, train station?

For Goodwood events and we can assist with transport to the Goodwood Estate which is only 15 minutes drive away for events like The Goodwood Festival of Speed and The Goodwood Revival. Please contact us to arrange this.

However we can also arrange Taxi Hire

Is there parking at the campsite?

You will be able to park your car off road at the entrance to the campsite. Parking is situated 200 yards from the tents. Our team are on hand to help you move your luggage & equipment to your tents, please just ask one of our team for assistance.

There is no access for vehicles on the campsite.


What kind of security is there at the campsite?

Our campsite is away from main roads, out of sight of passers-by. One of our team is always on site during your stay. We can provide padlocks to lock your tents while you are out. The entrance gate is locked at night so if you plan on arriving after dark, please call ahead to arrange access.

This is an open Campsite environment. We ask that you be considerate of other Campsite users and our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum when in the accommodation areas.

Is there a curfew at the campsite?

We do not allow outdoor amplified music or loud noise after 10:30pm or when it gets dark, as sound travels far and wide and upsets our neighbours.

However, acoustic bands or music in the daytime is possible, by prior arrangement. The yurts come with fitted sound systems on which you can play your own music, so you can retire to the yurts after dark and listen to music.

Are dogs allowed on the campsite?

Dogs must be properly supervised at all times, must not be dangerous and must not cause a nuisance or threat to anyone. No dog should be left unsupervised on The Campsite. We expect all owners to be responsible and clean up after their dog.

Our Campsite neighbours occasionally have livestock in the adjacent fields. Please do not attempt to enter these fields and please do not feed or touch the animals. Please keep your dog on a lead to protect livestock and your dog.

We can accommodate a maximum of 3 dogs on the campsite at any one time, so please let us know you plan to bring your dog when making the booking.

Can motor vehicles be parked next to tents?

Motor vehicles must not be driven into The Campsite. All motor vehicles should remain in the designated parking areas. If you need help carrying items to and from your accommodation please ask a member of our staff team, they will be happy to assist.

Can someone help me light the wood burning stove or can I light it myself?

Each yurt is equipped with a wood-burning stove, fire gloves, fire tools, matches, firelighters, wood, fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector. If you do not have experience of lighting / operating wood-burning stoves, please do not attempt to light the burner. Please notify campsite staff and we will gladly light the burner for you. Do not allow children to play with or operate the wood burner.

Please take extra care when moving around the wood burner as they get very hot and always make use of the safety equipment provided. If you run out of wood, just let one of the team know and we will replenish the wood basket for you. Please do not take/collect wood from the surrounding environment.

What about First Aid?

If you are in need of first aid please approach campsite staff. We have at least one first aider on site at any one time (Makka/ Vincent) First aid and burn kits are kept in the Reception Tent, Catering Van and Mess Tent.

What is there to do in the area around the campsite?

South Downs Way offers a really excellent variety of cycling routes, check out the cyclists guide for more details.

Kingley ValeNational Nature Reserve, including the oldest Yew forest in England and an Iron age Burial Mound. Once at the top of the hill you can see far out to sea and to Chichester in one direction and to the rolling South downs in the other. The walk to Kingley Vale takes 1hr 30 mins and is an easy level of difficulty.

Fishbourne Roman Palace and gardens is the largest Roman home in Britain. A great place to explore with the children.

Stanstead Park Country House hosts events from March and even has a miniature light railway which is loads of fun for the children.

West Witterings sandy beachhas been a favourite family destination for generations. For more details see West Wittering Beach for information.

The historic City of Chichester is a great place to wander, eat and shop. There is a farmer’s market every 1st & 3rd Friday of the month. Chichester Cathedral is a great place to visit, with lunchtime concerts, free events and art exhibitions and the splendid Bishop’s Gardens that is a beautiful setting for a picnic.

Goodwood House and race courses are a short drive away.

For big events, you can hire the whole campsite with exclusive access to Plush Tents, which includes the use of our yurts and on site facilities.

Sleeping accommodation for up to 60 people across, 12 yurts.

Can people bring their own tents?

We don’t have any space in the woodland camping area for guests to erect their own tents. But for exclusive hire events we can accommodate more guests if they wish to bring their own tents, caravan’s or motorhomes.

What about additional rain cover or hiring a marquee?

There is a bandstand already on the campsite that is about 5m in diameter. We also have a large Yurt for hire that can provide additional cover for big events. Our Yurt is round measuring 30ft and is big enough to host 65 seated, 120 standing. 

Can I bring my own marquee?

At this time it it not possible as we only use our suppliers.

Do you hire out sound and lighting equipment for big events?

Do you sell alcohol at the campsite?

No we have a bring your own policy. This can be ordered from Sainsburys and delivered directly to the site.

Hophead (local) or Youngs £210/barrel containing 70 pints, that works out at £3.00/pint.

Summer Lightening £245/barrel containing 70 pints, that works out at £3.50/pint.

Do you provide breakfast?



This is a hamper produced by head chef Sam Mahoney who was trained by the Roux Brothers – (Three Star Michelin Restaurant) and his team at Field & Fork!

Your breakfast hamper will be delivered to your tent in the morning giving you the freedom to take breakfast at your own pace. Get up, light the stove or bbq and cook a “full English”, snuggle up around the wood burner with the continental hamper enjoying bakery fresh pastries, cured meats, regional cheeses and fresh fruit salads and let the children unpack their own hampers of savoury filled croissants, sweet brioche and fresh fruit salad.

The choice as relaxed as the environment.

As with all Field and Forks catering services our hampers are prepared by our chefs from the finest ingredients on our premises. Your hamper will be conveniently packaged in disposable containers with cutlery and napkins.

Can you provide us with a picnic hamper?


The Field & Fork hamper service is ideal for all your meals and excursions, a day at the races, a days sailing from Chichester harbour, alfresco dining in the park before the theatre, a romantic day out in the country, fun at the seaside….


These delicious picnics are prepared by Field & Fork chefs from the finest ingredients at their nearby premises. Your picnic will be conveniently packaged in eco-friendly disposable containers with cutlery and napkins, or you can choose to have your own hamper filled.
