Event yurts for wedding or parties can be the perfect way of bringing a touch of magic to your special occasion.
In our changeable climate an outdoor extravaganza can never be guaranteed the desired sunny weather, whilst the best laid decoration plans can be ruined if everyone spends their day huddled under plastic.
If you have never been into a yurt before, the experience is always a bit special. There is something womb like about the circular structure, the simplicity in its strength which instantly gives a feeling of wellbeing.
What is a yurt?
A yurt (from the Turkic languages) or Ger (Mongolian) is a round, portable tent traditionally made of a wooden latticework and a central circular crown covered with skins or felt. Lived in by the nomadic people of central Asia for centuries and designed to withstand temperatures of minus 40 degrees centigrade as well as the gale force winds that whip across the plains in winter.
So they keep the rain out right?
Our yurts are lovingly handmade by craftsmen who are experts in tent construction and comprise of a strong, metal framed structure, an embroidered canvas cover and a sturdy wooden door. Plush Tents yurts are better designed to withstand the British climate than the more traditional models. The central Asians don’t have to deal with as much rain and damp as we do which can easily damage and rot these delicate structures. We are proud to have found a design which is cosy, inviting and waterproof.
So I can hold an event inside?
Absolutely. Our 26ft yurt fits up to 100 people standing for a drinks reception and around 65 on tables for a sit down meal. The acoustics are wonderful and improve the sound quality of live music both amplified and acoustic. Push back the tables and get everyone dancing to the beats of your favourite DJ. Perfectly suited to conferences and workshops the circular format allows for an intimate feel or a more formal layout.
Is it comfortable to stay in one?
Well you can ask the rich and famous about that one. The celebrities favourite for accommodation at events such as Glastonbury and Burning man, yurts are loved by the bohemian jet set.
Hire a yurt for your festival or event and live the life of an it girl or rock star.
Fans include Mick Jagger, Suki Waterhouse, Cara Delevigne, Caroline Flack. Luxury American department store Neiman Marcus even commissioned their own version, selling for an eye watering $75,000.
Wow that sounds amazing. How many can I hire?
